gazebo / wxgazebo crashing

Alberto Amengual
Hello,

I am trying to use the CVS version of Gazebo and it seems to build ok,
but then it crashes when executing any example.

If I try to execute "wxgazebo example.world", I get the following error

using display [:0.0]
*** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption: 0x0813bc10 ***
waiting for server
server died
stopping server

I changed the rendering method for the cameras (I had problems with that
in the non-CVS version), setting it to GLX, but it still crashed, the
difference being that the malloc line dissapears.

I am not very familiar with cvs so maybe I did something wrong in the
download. What I did:
CVSROOT=:pserver:[hidden email]:/cvsroot/playerstage
cvs login
cvs co gazebo
cd gazebo
aclocal
autoheader
automake --add-missing
autoconf

Then:
./configure
make install
After updating PYTHONPATH=/usr/local/lib/python2.3/site-packages, I was
able to execute it but it crashes.

Trying to execute gazebo instead of wxgazebo does exactly the same.

I am using gentoo over a Thinkpad R51, with an ATI Radeon Mobility 7500,
using the driver "radeon" (I have direct rendering with aprox 570 FPS).

I don't have much experience with linux so maybe there is something
wrong with the configuration of the X server, some environment variable
not defined, etc.

Anybody can help????

Thank you,

Alberto

Nate Koenig
Hello,

Can you run gazebo (not wxgazebo) through gdb, and send me a backtrace please?

Hi Nate,

I don't know if there is a way to send the message so that it is
automatically attached to a particular thread?

Anyway please find attached what I got from gdb:
