Gazebo SVN is crashing with Ogre 1.7.1

Bassam Jalgha
Dear all,
I am working on Ubuntu 10.04.

I have downloaded the latest Gazebo SVN r8766, and I have downloaded
the dependencies including OGRE 1.7.1

Gazebo builds with no errors and installs well. But whenever I run it,
the GUI starts and then crashes directly:

"
bassam@ubuntu:~/gazebo_svn/build$ gazebo
/usr/local/share/gazebo/worlds/pioneer2dx.world
Gazebo multi-robot simulator, version 0.10.0

Part of the Player/Stage Project [http://playerstage.sourceforge.net].
Copyright (C) 2003 Nate Koenig, Andrew Howard, and contributors.
Released under the GNU General Public License.

directory [/tmp/gazebo-bassam-0] already exists (previous crash?)
but the owner gazebo server (pid=18912) is not running.
deleting the old information of the directory [/tmp/gazebo-bassam-0]
Gazebo successfully initialized
terminate called after throwing an instance of
'Ogre::InvalidParametersException'
   what():  OGRE EXCEPTION(2:InvalidParametersException): Could not
create gpu programs from render state  in
ProgramManager::acquireGpuPrograms at
/home/bassam/Downloads/ogre/Components/RTShaderSystem/src/OgreShaderProgramManager.cpp (line
112)
Aborted

"

It has been days i am trying to fix this error, by installing older
svn revisions and different Ogre versions, nothing worked.

Any help is really appreciated.

Regards
Bassam Jalgha

Re: Gazebo SVN is crashing with Ogre 1.7.1

John Hsu-2
Hi,
this might be an issue with the new RTShaderSystem, it's been fixed in the
ros ported gazebo,
https://code.ros.org/trac/ros-pkg/ticket/4165
Is gazebo installed in a read-only directory?
