Can't compile Gazebo

Ben Coughlan
Hi All,

I'm trying to get started with player, stage and gazebo.  Player and
Stage build and run fine but I'm having some issues with Gazebo.

I've attached the output from 'cmake' and 'make' below.

The one thing I've noticed is that I don't have libplayerxdr anywhere
on my path and player 3.0.0 doesn't seem to include it anymore.
Instead there is libplayerwkb which I can't find any documentation for.

Any help would be great :)

Re: Can't compile Gazebo

Hi Ben,
It is because source code structure has changed in Players( i do not know after which version). This will compile with Plyer2.1.2  but now with Player3.0.0rc3 since there is no " libplayerxdr " directory in installed includes.
On linux machine, it can be handled by creating a soft link to name 'libplayerxdr' to 'libplayerinterface' in the same installed include directory. This solved problem for me.

Re: Can't compile Gazebo

After doing this i get caught in one of linking issues. If you happen to caught in that, you can try setting in <gazebo_home>/player/CMakeCache.txt line no-818 path to libraries of Player. In my case it was blank!

How did you create that link? I'm having the same problem as Ben with the libplayerxdr error.

Re: Can't compile Gazebo

Its just a soft link. I am sure you know about 'ln  -s <target> <newName>' command.
